Animated backgrounds cost CPU, GPU, memory and battery. The weight label shown on each background (light, medium, heavy) is a rough hint, not a measurement of your users' devices.

Before shipping, please check:

• Frame rate on low-end phones and integrated graphics, not just your development machine.
• Battery and thermal impact for anything that animates continuously.
• Whether the animation should pause when the tab is hidden or the element is off-screen.

Motion can cause discomfort, dizziness or nausea for some people, and busy backgrounds can push text below acceptable contrast. Snippets are demonstrations of a technique, not audited accessible components.

At a minimum, honour the prefers-reduced-motion media query, verify contrast of any content placed on top, and avoid rapid flashing. Meeting WCAG in your product remains your responsibility.

Canvas, WebGL and modern CSS features are not available everywhere. WebGL in particular can be unavailable, blocklisted or software-rendered depending on the device, driver and browser settings. Provide a static fallback for those cases.

Previews on the Site are rendered live in your browser and may look different from the same code in your project, where fonts, container size, device pixel ratio, colour profile and surrounding CSS all differ.
